A sad story
written by: crazymixedup
56  Georgia

This has been a day for reflection, but at the same time, a day for continuing business as usual. My daughter and I went to see "Julie and Julia" this afternoon. It was my pick so I was glad she enjoyed it, too. By the time it was over, we both found ourselves wanting to try cooking some boeuf bourguignon. Afterwards, we had planned to meet her dad for dinner at the Indian...

I'm sorry that I haven't been around for a couple days... but I just got home from the hospital with the most precious little baby I have ever seen!! I went to my OB appt on Monday and they checked my fluid levels and they were low so they decided to induce. I don't have time to go into the whole story right now, but I did want to let you all see some pictures of the little...

In loving memory..
written by: shar157

Ted kennedy was an amazing and remarkable man, known for his fire, passion, and yes, at times great recklessness.  To me his life is a testament of redemption --  The troubled young man who cost another's life went on to spend his remaining life fighting for the good of the common man.  In his passing, I would like to share the words he shared with us all when he lost his brother...

Homosexuality Is A Sin

An entry by another diarist enraged me, but instead of judging someone based on their views or beliefs, I will just write out my feelings on this issue. I dont like being judged, no one does, but no one seems to remember that fact when it comes to sexuality. I am bisexual. If you didnt know that and are a regular reader, you must have been under a rock while reading my entries. I didnt chose...

i don't usually post public entries and never to the ED circle any more, but i think i just need to get this one on here, just because...i need to voice this. yesterday at the hospital...i saw my cousin, catherine. she had emergency brain surgery because of a rapidly growing brain tumour which was growing on her optic nerve and causing her to go blind. catherine has had anorexia for most of...

Where is the Romance?
written by: the one who wonders
52  Wisconsin

Romance is greatly overrated - but I am speaking as a middle aged woman. When I was younger, I know I felt differently. It would be curious to me how many people separate because "there just isn't any romance in our marriage anymore". Being married can be hard work; the dating part was fun & exciting & romantic. Most men want to put their best image forward to woo the woman...

written by: A Lasting Silence?

And even if the rain And snow, and wind, and moon Cannot know our pain How is it, then, they alone Can hold us together, and keep us sane   It's not that the world is bleak and cold Though it can be, if truth be told It's just that sometime mother's And lover's, and all the rest Cannot know, and will not grant Solace, nor heal pains That cannot be confessed   What use is...

I don't understand America
written by: Phoenixia
22  Australia

I have to say, I've never really had any desire to visit the USA. My list of places I need to go is varied - pretty much everywhere in Europe, Egypt, Africa, Antarctica, the far North to see the aurora, Russia, pacific islands, Canada, all the bits of NZ and Australia I have yet to see... and hopefully, one day I'll visit them all. But, apart from a desire to see Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon...

Sick Sad Little World
written by: Not Applicable
21  Colorado

Felt like shit since last night. Krav was fun, but shortly after, a flood of memories eradicated any momentary joy that a good endorphin rush can provide. On the way home, my playlist hit this song, Sick Sad Little World by Incubus.  Scott had always loved that song. I don't think he knew what it was about, since at the point we listened to it together, he was barely...
